Our Lead Counsel and respected ADR expert, Aisha Ado Abdullahi, joined the event as a speaker on Panel 2, where she delivered a compelling virtual presentation on the topic “Is ADR a Better Alternative to Litigation?”. In her contribution, she emphasized that Alternative Dispute Resolution and litigation are not opposing systems but complementary pillars that together strengthen the administration of justice. She also highlighted the wide range of opportunities available to lawyers—especially young practitioners—within the ADR space, noting that many of these prospects remain largely underexplored.

During her session, she provided valuable insights into the innovations introduced by the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, particularly the improved framework for enforcing arbitral awards. She explained that these advancements significantly enhance the effectiveness, reliability, and global relevance of ADR processes in Nigeria.
